We are partnering with a top 100 Legal Firm to recruit for a Business Development (BD) Manager to play a pivotal role in driving strategic growth, enhancing visibility, and developing new opportunities across London and international markets. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, manage key relationships, and lead initiatives that contribute directly to the firm’s long-term strategy.
The Role
- Lead London and international business development initiatives.
- Develop and implement BD plans aligned with the firm’s strategic objectives.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with referrers including accountancy firms, law firms, and intermediaries.
- Provide strategic advice to partners on their marketing and growth strategies.
- Line manage and coach a BD Executive.
- Manage budgets and ensure maximum ROI.
- Project manage BD and marketing campaigns, from research through to execution.
- Network in relevant markets, identifying opportunities and making introductions.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Marketing and BD to ensure alignment with sector trends.
- Support wider marketing activity including events, awards, press, PR, and digital content.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- 5+ years’ BD/marketing experience within professional services.
- Experience in managing people and working with senior stakeholders.
- Strong project/account management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to challenge the status quo, think creatively, and work independently.
- A proactive, flexible, and organised approach with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.
- Degree qualification desirable.
