Last week we ran a poll to see which alternative to an office Christmas party would be most popular. Employers, take note:
The novelty of Zoom seems to have worn off, with only 7% hoping for an online knees-up.
Twice as many people (14%) would actually prefer their firm made a charitable donation this year instead of spending on parties and gifts.
Nearly a quarter (23%) opted for postponing the party until next year when, hopefully, social distancing will be relaxed.
But the biggest vote winner (57%) was a preference for a gift or hamper to be delivered to their home.
This is a good opportunity for leaders to get creative and come up with new ways to show their appreciation to their teams and support their community. It’s been a tough year for everyone, and acknowledgement of that by firms is crucial.
